I am happy for you, but a bit surprised. A PRO III sitting next to my Orion
fell apart on receive during a major dx contest. the Orion heard signals
buried under the crud produced inside the PIII masking or obliterating
signals. Subjective? Yes but it was a test. How did you determine your PIII
can hear anything the Orion can? During non-contest conditions I believe both
products might be considered capable, and the PIII might be easier to use. For
me, I'll trade inconvenience/cosmetics for a better receiver every time. Thats
why the make different radios. Ain't free enterprise grand! 73 bob de w9ge
