I often found Al on 40 meter SSB; in QSO, he was "Al", not "Mr. Ten Tec" or "Electo-Voice". One of my most treasured QSL cards is from Al. He thanked ME (!) for the QSO, then chided me for using that Astatic microphone with one of "his" Triton IVs. Al, I'm using a Shure 444 now; I hope it's OK.
