it sounds like water in the coax.. But take it a step at a time, put a dummy load at the antenna and transmit, if its stable, ya broke the antenna ( dropping the whip inside to far can break the wire inside the the fiberglass on some types of hamsticks) or you have water in there, if it still wiggles go to the other end of that coax piece and check there.. if it quits wiggling, you have bad coax , and so on work your way down to the rig, if you put the dummy load on the back of the rig and it still wiggles, ya gots a bad radio.. Dummy load, the best troubleshooting tool around.. |
