I agree. I had the older TS-570 and it did not truncate plus I've heard 
dozens of them on the air and they always have very nice sounding cw. 
Possibly this was an urban legend. The AGC was a different story on the 
original 570. It had the uncanny ability to totally blip out cw characters 
when presented with a small burst of static as if the AGC were a bit too 
aggressive. This was fixed in the DG model. I think the 570 is one of the 
best deals going for an inexpensive HF rig.
