Which is the speed needed to reach those key clicks with the keyer ???
Key clicks are a result of the leading and trailing edges of the
keying envelope either being to steep or having overshoot and ringing
or both. If the keying envelope is such that key clicks are produced,
then they will be produced at any WPM speed.
I should have added that there are some other possible causes of key
clicks, such as PLL settling time where one or more oscillators get
switched between RX mode frequencies and TX mode frequencies. This kind
of click is perhaps more accurately called chirp. If the rig switches
between TX and RX modes on every dit and dah (ie. it is operating in QSK
mode) then this chirp will occur at the same time as keying envelope
caused clicks occur, the beginning and possibly the end of dits and
dahs. AND it will occur at any WPM keying speed.
