There are several versions of this connector, each manufacturer that
makes them has several --and they come apart in different ways. Nearly all
of them have the connector pins molded into an insert that slides out of
the connector. I suspect from your description that you have one of the
conventional Switchcraft connectors. You do NOT need to remove the two
screws that you did take out -- they simply tighten (and loosen) the cable
strain relief, so all you need to do is loosen them so that the cable
slides. The screw you are having trouble with is built into the insert,
and is reverse-threaded. Screw it INTO the insert to release the insert,
then the insert will slide out the front of the connector.
