Hi Tom and Group,
If thats the case, then you will have to use Pin #2 for the shield, with no
wire connection to the Orion mic connector.
If RFI continues, then my suggestion to you is to install a .01uf cap across
Pin #1 Audio Hot lead of the Orion mic connector to chassis ground on the
Orion. This work has to be done on the inside of the rig.
But, before you do all of this stuff, try sending your audio in through the
AUX I/O (page 28 of the users manual) using the white RCA connector on the
supplied cable. There are 3 ways to key the Orion to transmit.
You will have to get into the Orion menus for this to work. SSB Menu: set
the Aux input gain to 100%, set TX Audio Source to AUX.
Or, you can send the rig back to TT for modification.
