I really wonder what percentage of Orion's have these problems? I have
had mine since March of last year and have had NO problems with it. It
works just like it should.
However, I don't jump and download each software revision as it is
released. I wait a month or so before I try it. That way I can decide if I
want it and judge what the difficulty with it may be. I do the same thing
with upgrades from Microsoft.
It would be interesting to know how many Orions there are versus how
many IC-7800s! I don't know about the rest of you, but I heard about a few
problems that were discussed on the ICOM reflector. I don't care who makes
it, you are not going to have a "perfect" software defined radio. Just wait
until the new Yaesu radio hits the street!
