[TenTec] [TenTec_Pegasus] Mic gain

I  have the N4PY  software for my pegasus.
  the mic gain adjustment does not work properly even when it is set 
to 0 the ALC light comes on 
   whenever I talk into microphone.  it has very little action it 
seems to be at maximum gain all the time the mic slider in the ssb 
setting  seems to have no effect on . All the other software 
adjustments for the pegasus workfine.  
         
   The manual adjust for the mic gain works this way  either there is 
no gain or it goes to maximum
gain there seems to be no happy medium.
        
          Any suggestions would be apreciated.
