[TenTec] Reverse Polarization Damage to Triton 540?

I swapped a TenTec Triton IV 540 and am told that there
is no power.

I am worried that he may have wired the power supply
cable incorrectly.

What is the possible damage from him reversing the polarization
of the power connector?

Since I did this once to another TenTec it is the first thing
I think of!  ;-)
