You will not be disappointed Peter.
I have an Omni V with the N4PY replacement microprocessor.
It is an excellent radio compared to just about any Japanese radio as far as
RF / on air performance goes.
The front end etc. is the same as Omni VI, quad parallel FET's in the RF amp
and post mixer amp.
Mixer is an SBL1 hot carrier.
I find it bomb proof on 40m under any conditions, and no problem on 160m
either.
It is not deaf.. can hear on 10m better than my FT-102 and a repaired TS-930
that is sitting here.
