"Clicks" is not a good description of the sound. It is more of a bell-like "ping" sound and is caused by the reed relay used for Orion's internal QSK (not an amp relay). For any who have used the TS-930S in QSK, the sound is exactly the same since the 930 also used a reed relay in QSK mode.
