The sweep never was fast enough to keep up with tuning changes even in the 
previous firmware.  I just read the scale, add or subtract from the display 
frequency and tune to where I expect the signal to be.  When I get there the 
sweep 
catches up.

I also noticed it is not a good idea to adjust anything while sending CW even 
when using an outboard keyer.  The CW stutters.  I have no idea if there is a 
similar effect on SSB.
