Good Day Everyone.
Please give another try to listen to my Windows Media Player stream at
http://www.w8kc.com/stream.asx
Although I received a great many reports from people who enjoyed listening
to the audio stream, I likewise received a number of reports of errors.
Many of you reported seeing a message like "file not found." It seems the
stream was a bit more popular than I thought, and the server was rejecting
more than 5 simultaneous connection. That has been bumped up a bit. You do
need to be running Microsoft Media player compatible systems greater than
version 6. If you are behind a corporate firewall, the stream may also be
blocked, as is my case.
Later this week I'll be receiving a shiny new Dell Server (shameless plug, I
do own a lot of DELL stock). It will be configured as a Windows 2003 Media
Server (SHUT UP, I own no MSFT!) and I'll experiment with that a tad.
Although it's been a lucrative career field (CSCO, LNUX, RHAT, INTC, AMD),
it's too much like my real world job (EDS). At least getting the Ten*Tec
(privately held, dagnabit) Corsair audio out to you all makes it somewhat
more entertaining.
So once again, I offer for your listening pleasure today, the stimulating
sounds of the 40 meter QRP calling frequency, 7.040 MHz. The receiver is a
Ten*Tec Corsair with a 1.8kc crystal CW filter. The antenna is a full wave
dipole at 30 feet.
W8KC is located in the far-northern suburbs of metropolitan Detroit.
