You might check to see if ON Semiconductor, a spin-off from Motorola
Semiconductor, produces the RF devices.

I have heard of a re-org at Motorola but I have no knowledge of parts being
discontinued.

I will check out their internet site.

The big problem with solid state amps right now is that Motorola is self
destructing, and is selling off their semiconductor division. They already
discontinued the line of RF transistors for power amps they formerly sold.
I am not sure who if anyone has picked up rights to the dies. There are
some Japanese RF transistor vendors, but I think those are MOSFET finals.
If one could get a good supply of RF parts, then it would be less hassle to
build the solid state amplifiers, or modules that plug in. The ones for
commercial broadcast markets are way out of ham budgets.
