[TenTec] scout display problem with 40 meter module

here's an unusual problem.

I have two scout transceivers. two forty modules.

one of the modules causes the display to become unstable when in transmit on
ssb. cw seems to be fine. it's the module, because I can move it from one
radio to the other and the problem follows the module.

so, after I have taken the module apart and looked for the obvious broken
solder joints, has anyone ever had this problem with a band module?
