Since the Gap series of antennas are in the range of 25 feet high, (for the Titan); definitely guy them if you have variable winds. I agree. Mine has withstood 45 mph without guys, but the clamp came loose from the home mast it was clamped against. After that I added three nylon guys from Wal Mart, (easiest to get here); and it withstood 75 mph winds outflow from a Tornadic storm that passed North of me. Other trees broke off near the ground, but I only had stretching in the nylon lines. Definitely believe and keep guys on verticals and masts, if free standing. -Stuart K5KVH |
