[TenTec] Semi-conductor device

I have in my possession several Motorola MTM15N45 which also has a number 
stamped on the case 8713 which I assume is simple some number which 
indicates a lot number.  What I need to know what is a MTM15N45 and is it 
suitable for replacement of a similar device in a TenTec power supply?
