One thing we all forget after six years.   Any antenna connection is going
to weather and corrode so that we have some points of possible diode
rectification to generate harmonics or intermod.  Also, it can affect the
impedance match and increase power reflected down the outside of a coax.  An
RF sniffer could help one make sure the feeder is quiet for RF on its outer
side.
