In testing plastics, just make sure the sample is not a quarter wave long at the microwave oven frequency, or you will have a worst case test for heating. A small sample well under resonant lengths is preferred for testing along with a cup of water. If the water boils and the pvc is not too hot by then, it is low enough loss for intermittent amateur service. 73, Stuart K5KVH |
