Sorry to hear that, Art, but you're right. Mobile/portable is better
than nothing. Mobile antennas have gotten pretty good. Just remember,
bigger is better. That is, a Hamstick or Hustler will work better than
the small antennas with the skinny loading coils. If you have a safe
place to park you can string out a wire antenna or mount a big whip on
the vehicle. I've had good success with a 1/4 wave end fed wire attached
to the vehicle and a 16 foot base loaded whip.
Why not run the Pegasus mobile? Put in in the trunk, or on the floor and
use a laptop PC as a control head. Crazy idea?
