The Jupiter uses a Analog Devices 16 bit processor. The following is from AD's site:

http://www.analog.com/Analog_Root/productPage/productHome/0,2121,generic%253DADSP%25252D2181%2526level4%253D%25252D1%2526level1%253D205%2526level2%253D206%2526level3%253D%25252D1%2526resourceWebLawID%253D0,00.html

16-bit, 40 MIPS, 5v, 2 Serial Ports, Host Port, 80 KB RAM

General Description

The ADSP-2181 is a single-chip microcomputer optimized for digital signal processing (DSP) and other high speed numeric processing applications. ADI recently disclosed plans for a new ADSP-219x series. With speeds beyond 300MIPS, this new series is ADSP-218x code-compatible.

The ADSP-2181 combines the ADSP-2100 family base architecture (three computational units, data address generators and a program sequencer) with two serial ports, a 16-bit internal DMA port, a byte DMA port, a programmable timer, Flag I/O, extensive interrupt capabilities, and on-chip program and data memory.

The ADSP-2181 integrates 80K bytes of on-chip memory configured as 16K words (24-bit) of program RAM, and 16K words (16-bit) of data RAM. Power-down circuitry is also provided to meet the low power needs of battery operated portable equipment. The ADSP-2181 is available in 128-pin TQFP and 128- pin PQFP packages

I hope the answer to this question isn't too obvious: I've been looking at the specs and write-ups about the Orion and Jupiter. I see a lot about the Orion's dual 32 bit DSP processors but have not been able to find anything about what the Jupiter's DSP processor is. Can anyone with a Jupiter/Peg out there answer this?
Tnx & 73,
