I have seen the same thing happen, to a lesser degree, on other radios.  I'm
sure it's part of the warming up... transistors are more efficient as they
get hotter because internal resistance decreases (?).  On a grand scale (not
what you are seeing), this becomes thermal runaway.

Here's my definition of a QRO creep... an RTTY op who starts transmitting
over a transcontinental QSO on 7.040... surely he can hear at least one side
of the conversation.
