Gary informs me that some Omni V, VI maybe even a few VI+'s used MRF458 final transistors. Later the 458's became hard to get and they switched to MRF454's.

He tells me that he uses MRF454's when available but that he also has used the SRF3795 and... the one he personally prefers to all the others due to it's very low failure rate is the ... Thompson SD1405. The Thompson SD1405 also crosses to the NTE335 but I have not compared specs. The SD1405 are the replacement transistors that in a matched set of 8 are used as replacements in the Herc II as well.... matched pairs in the Omni's.
