If you want a gain Yagi of wire, you make a dipole for fed element, and another 5 per cent longer for reflector and one 5 per cent shorter as director. Spacing can be experimentally optimized from 0.125 wavelength starting points. A full wave and a quarter of horizontal wire will give you some nice gain, even if it is only 20 feet high. Make it square for all directions coverage, feed in corner with 450 ohm ladder line to a tuner for all bands. Formula of 1005 over F in MHz is a starting point for full wave loop. Since you are tuning it, exactness is not an issue. (Does not have to be resonant when cut.) GL, 73, Stuart K5KVH |
