I certainly am VERY pleased with Ten-Tec and their continuing efforts to update
the firmware for rigs that we have paid for in full. Meaning that if they were
like the "other" companies - they would be spending time working on a new RADIO
rather than "worrying" about what has already been sold! Ten-Tec obviously
cares about "us" and we should keep this fact in mind - especially when
expressing displeasure. Please do not misunderstand me. I am NOT saying that
we can not express displeasure JUST that we should think about what we are
saying before we hit "send".
I am very pleased with my Jupiter and the fact that I can update the rig
with new features as they are released. The "bugs" are but a minor
inconvenience as one can always go back to a previous version until the pest
control guys have a chance to fumigate the newer version.
There is one firmware update that I am very much looking forward to - - -
The one that increases the physical volume, and changes the color, of my
Jupiter. This update also changes the name on the front panel to "ORION" :-)
This is all just my humble opinion. I have had various Yaecomwoods and did
NOT like the feeling I got when I opened the newest "QST" and saw a new model
coming out AND noticed that "my" rig now cost $250.00 less than I recently paid
for it!
Thanks Ten-Tec! Good Night and 73 to all; Bill
