[TenTec] Pegasus Speech Processor

Does anyone know if the Speech Processor is active or useful in AM or FM modes 
on the Pegasus? The Speech Processor was added after my version of the manual 
was printed, so it is not mentioned at all. It's also not mentioned in the 
Programmer's Reference Guide.
