Hi Michael,
Push around on the rec-trans switch, receive antenna jack and others in that
area. I had a Ten-Tec 580 Delta which was having a similar problem and it
was a broken receive antenna phono jack. Some metal had apparently broken
off and was shorting out the signals. I wedged a small piece of plastic down
in the thing enough to open up the short and it worked just fine. Just a
possibility.

Subject: [TenTec] Trouble with Triton IV
I purchased a Triton IV from eBay recently. It came with an intermittent
problem in the receiver. The receiver would suddenly lose RF sensitivity
for no explainable reason. A little jiggling of parts and checking turned
up a cold solder joint in the ALC/SWR section of the unit.
Everything worked fine until a week or so later when the receiver suddenly
lost sensitivity in the middle of a QSO. I went through the same procedure
and have been unable to locate the source of the problem this time.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks
