I disagree those who say the ticking is generated outside the JUPITER.
Several months ago I installed a Jensen Linx J120 wireless headphone
interface. I never heard the clicking in the JUPITER audio chain with speaker
or headphones, but now with the wireless headset I can orient the 900Mhz
xmitter under and around the JUPITER cabinet and the ticking/clicking is
definitely coming from the JUPITER. I have used toroids on all the wireless
xmitter lines only limited success. The source seems to flow down the audio
line from the JUPITER.
I have an external LDG AT11-MP (because my SWR is different on CW and SSB
with the INTERNAL tuner) and I have powered it down with NO change in the
constant (annoying) ticking.
I do not believe it is the internal tuner, because the ticking was there
5 months ago when I got the wireless interface. My Internal tuner is turned
OFF at this time.
Solution at N9VV was to move the 900Mhz xmitter far enough away from the
JUPITER cabinet (2 feet) so that it doesn't pick up the tick.
