Two methods have been often proposed. One was to plug a set of amplified
computer speakers into the headphone jack and the other, which I did, was to
wire directly to the speaker leads inside the rig, unhooking the internal
speaker, and run the wire to an external speaker. Take care not to ground
either wire since they carry DC voltage. It's a very weird design.
