There is really a best performance way to tune up a radio: Measure the field coming from your antenna, and within the specs of the radio as to current and voltage, tune for the maximum field strength! A simple, untuned diode FS meter is often placed on the dash of cars with the Screwdriver type continuously variable inductor antenna as the easiest way to optimize them in a given band. Can be used in the home station as well. 73, Stuart K5KVH |
