Another way to use the standard mobile mount is to glue it to a foam
vibration isolating pad. Then, glue another piece of aluminum to the other
side of the foam to form a flanged mount that will screw to the underside of
the dash. Or if you can't let the plate stick out beyond the sides of the
foam, drill thru foam and plate for counter sunk bolts to hold it to dash
lip. With a little imagination, other mountings could be accommodated. The
thing is to have foam isolation between the mobile mount hard bolted to the
Scout, and the vehicle dash or console that is jumping.
