I suspect two of the systems you are referring to above are the JPS
ANC-4 and the MFJ unit, but I'd like to know the identity of the system
that "shifts noise almost perfectly and has little to no amplitude
variation as phase is shifted." Sounds like a neat trick. I utilize the
ANC-4 and it fits your description of the unit that "shifts noise but
also shifts amplitude severly and so has limited effectiveness."Fill us
in on this wonder unit, please.
