Rick,
It is always a good idea to completely remove and reinsert all plugs that
might have developed bad contact.  If any suspicious surfaces are noted, a bit
of good contact cleaner is easy to do at that time, and may retard further
problems.  DeOxit is one such product.

The other problem point with intermittents are switch contacts, and a spary
might be in order there followed by swift rotation through all positions, and
the other problem area can be in relay contacts or relays that lose spring
tension sufficient to hold contacts closed.  Am not sure on this rig if such
would be in the receive path, but definitely check any band specific
components for 17M.
