Man, I don't know what kind of knob you have on your OMNI V, but,
there is no adjustment whatsoever on the knob of my rig....I took the
thing off thinking that the last time I took it off to lube the
tuning shaft that I just might not have noticed a way to adjust
tension, but, the weighted skirt is attached to the knob proper by 4
little round posts of the plastic knob sticking thry 4 holes in the
weight and the ends of these melted down to lock the two pieces
together....on mine, at least, there ANFW to adjust tension
externally to the unit...

I put ONE DROP of "Slick 50 One Lube" on the encoder shaft about 6
months ago....I had felt that the tuning action was a bit too damped
for my tastes....the one drop mixed with whatever thick lube was on
the encoder shaft and loosened it up enough to give easy tuning....it
spins about like the knob on my FT990 now and has a pretty good
"feel" to it....I would like to know, though, more about the
adjustable tension tuning knobs....
