The sometimes recommended change of C30 on the audio/IF board in the Argosy does indeed cure the "popping" problem. It also cures the rig of full QSK, the changeover time becomes pretty sluggish with the 10uf cap in place of the 1uf. IF full, tight QSK is not your bag, the change is nice. I put the old cap right back in :-) . I am not that worried about it to try a 4.7uf cap in there, that might be a good compromise though. Clark WA3JPG |
