Arrgh! This was supposed to go to the list, not just to W1NR.

Thanks for all the comments, which expressed a wide range of views. I was a
little surprised to see that some people think I was "massaging" my log,
whereas K9MA saw it just as I did. (Must be the W9YT experience -- we had
a lot of fun together there.)
I think W1NR has the right explanation. The 9-call was calling somebody I
could not hear (and there were LOTS of stations I could not hear in that
'Test, especially west of W9-Land). Maybe I should have realized that. And
K3EH (the real QSO) was very considerate to wait for the "K3EH" (non-)QSO
and then call me again.
