Good Morning Joe and AllI certainly agree. One thing tho and this has happened to me a couple of times, it can also be a real let down when you notice you have no chance to overcome a competitor in your entry class and just lose interest in the contest. In my case I use onlinescoarboard in about 50% of my contest efforts. I will probably use it in this years ARRL DX ........see you there. 73 BoB WA1FCN On 1/30/2024 11:40 PM, Joe wrote: I find the online live scoreboard a GIANT thing to keep my Butt in The Chair! Many times I would be just about to stop for a while and see another station just barely ahead of me so decide to try to pass them.Or even more often when you are in a horse race with someone else where you are constantly trading places.Without the scoreboard I'd be sleeping, eating or who knows what instead of keeping going!Joe WB9SBD . It is important to not discount the 80%+ of worldwide contesters who didnot use 3830 or online scoreboard. They are still very much real contestersand I'm sure lots of them read 3830 or watch the scoreboard while not posting to them.Online score reporting is quickly growing and just in the past couple years I watched the dominos fall as first K3LR then immediately after the otherbig guns started using it. Everyone posting to the scoreboard knows the world (including those who are serious about contesting but not posting)can see it and they are all OK with it. The scoreboard certainly drives up"water cooler" talk steering more hams towards contesting.
