Toall RTTY ops:
Thisis a reminder that once again, the Northern California Contest Club is
pleasedto present our regular weekly half hour RTTY Sprint, aka the NS RTTY,
thisThursday evening North America time.
DespiteThanksgiving dinner keeping many of us away from our rigs, the 3830
Websiteindicates that there was healthy participation last week. This week, we
should be back up to fullspeed.
Remember, the North American continent is now on Standard Time. This
contestalways starts at the same Coordinated Universal Time (0145Z each Friday,
52months of the year), regardless of whether local time is Daylight Savings
Timeor Standard Time. That means that most of us will be starting ata
different local time than we were on when thecontinent was on Daylight Savings
Time.
Forthose of you who are new to our weekly NS RTTY’s, we use a variation of
theNCJ’s Sprint QSY rule – 1 KHz QSY’s rather than 5 KHz – and allow
duplicatecontacts after one intervening contact. If you need a fullexplanation
of these special rules, send me an e-mail, and I’ll give you allthe details,
e.g., a precise definition of our QSY rule.
Soremember to QSY after you’ve made a contact that you‘ve solicited, and
alsoremember to give both callsigns as part of the exchange.
Forthose of you using the popular N1MM+ logger, the contest module to use
isNSRTTYDUPE. A good set of example function keys is in the N1MM+
website'sfunction key gallery, and available for free download.
Afterthe contest, please remember to submit your scores to www.3830scores.com.
It’s easy – on 3830, the name of this contest is “NCCC RTTYSprint”. Reporting
your score, whether it be big or small, helpsbuild enthusiasm for this event.
That in turn increases participation forfuture editions, which benefits all of
us.
Rememberto try 15 meters at the beginning of this Thursday night's contest – 15
hasusually been open at 0145Z lately, at least for some locations.
Thedetails of our next NS RTTY:
Friday, 2 December 2022 UTC, 0145Z to 0215Z (Thursday, 1 December 2022 in
NorthAmerica)
-- 1745 to 1815 PST
