I did some checking and that seems to be the only post I used
the word "Celebrate"
thankfully.  Every thing else I used commemorating or memorial .
On 9-11 I lived in Ct. 45 miles from NYC and the XYL and I
had most memorable meal
at "Windows on the World" This was 3 weeks before the first
bombing.   There is a
really nice story behind our "memorable meal " there.  I wonder
if you ever visited
                Windows on the World.

I agree 100%. Celebrate is definitely the wrong word. Besides what was
already mentioned, how about Memorializing.
I was working in NYC that day....and the day after too...one of the very
few classes of folks to be allowed back into NYC (I work at New York
Presbyterian Hospital).
We lost many good people (first responders) that day...including 3 rigs
(ambulances).
As they say, I saw it all happen...first hand, line-of-sight.
