I live in Tomball, TX, northwest of Houston.  Summers can get fairly hot and
humid.
My shack is separate from the house.  It was originally built for in-laws and
has central air and heat, bed, bath, closet, kitchen, etc..  Radios are in an
area that was an open living room, with slider partition to close off bedroom
for privacy.  Total living area is 900 square feet.  Temp is kept at 80F.  I
have three 1500 watt Alpha amps (87A), so installed a window A/C unit to use
when the amps are all in use.  Photo is posted in QRZ.
Operating in this environment allows comfort in long hours of contest
operating, which leads to good scores.
Good luck with your shack.
