Bill - many general purpose logging programs (I happen to use DX Labs) provide 
LotW user indication automatically. They essentially regularly update LotW 
databases by using LotW APIs to pull the info down. They do the same for eQSL 
for those that follow that. JTalert does the same thing for WSJT-X and the 
digital modes. 
If you use N1MM for your daily logging, you don't see that - but there are 
"bridges" available that will forward every QSO as you make it in N1MM to the 
general purpose logger and you can have that screen up while you contest if you 
like and see the LotW indication on the packet spotting screen and the log.
