The simplicity of call sign copying contests like CQ WW and CWops nay be a
major factor in their popularity. High activity makes operating fun. For
many, operating is more important than their result. Contests with unknown
and/or complicated exchanges are also fun, even with lower participation.People
who don't value contest diversty can select their favorites. Overall line
scores allow one to compare with locals, with similar locations, similar
stations, etc. No one needs to feel bad that a west Africa superstation beat
them.Seems like a pretty good hobby.73,Ed W0YK

[CQ-Contest] CQWW is an unfair Contest -- A solutiion! Pete,Do "they" need to
do something about one of your favorites CWopsT contest? With N1MM call history
"ON" you just type call-sign, hit space and correspondent's name and membership
number are there already.Let's not to ruin CQWW, the most popular contest by
tearing it apart in attempt to satisfy everyone.73 Yuri VE3XB N4ZR wrote:They
still need to do something about the CQWW exchange. With zones, it's just a
callsign-copying contest. I'm for serial numbers.73, Pete N4ZRCheck out the
