That's a huge project you're asking for, Scott! I spent months on the 
one that's published! OTOH, the spectrum plots from ARRL Labs certainly 
provide the cues to which rigs have greater occupied spectrum. My work 
simply took all the raw data and plotted it so that rigs could be more 
precisely compared. So download the ARRL Lab reports and carefully study 
the keying spectrum for each. Enlarge and print them, and carefully 
measure bandwidth with a precision ruler with small calibrations, like 
an architect's scale. That's what I did before I got ARRL's raw data in 
electronic form.

The examples you have in your slides are mainly out of production. Can you 
update them with the newer rigs? For example the Elecraft, Icom and Yaesu 
examples are no longer in production.  Most have been replaced with newer stuff 
except the K3s and FT DX 5000 which still seems to be very popular.
Let’s hope the K4d keeps those qualities. I am mainly interested in the Icom 
7851/7610/7300 data personally.
You and Rob Sherwood should do something for NCJ on “Desirable reforms for ham contest 
transmitters”.
The ARRL efforts to reign in key clicks will be unenforceable but it is 
probably helpful to bring attention to the issue. I believe pressure must be 
placed on the manufactures.
