Even W0YK has suggested that we need an FT mode with more like a 5 second
time period to be viable as a contest mode.
Things I currently can't do in an FT8 contest include, please do correct me
if I am wrong:
- Saying "HI JIM KB" before my TU and CQ.
- Move a needed station to another band.
- Explain to a casual operator what the exchange is and how to learn more
and enjoy the contest.
- Transmit out of sequence (hopefully I don't have to explain that).
All of these are no doubt a SMOP but we aren't there yet. 73 jeff wk6i
