Sounds like a pretty serious condemnation of CERTAIN point-and-click ops. I
know many still adhere to the principle of not calling until you know who it
is, but it’s pretty damn lazy to start dropping in a callsign simply because
RBN or Skimmer or the cluster “thinks” someone new is on a particular
frequency. An operator gains nothing by QRMing a dupe.
RBN, Skimmer or the cluster don’t waive the obligation to LISTEN first! If
there were ever a radio equivalent of ‘a stitch in time saves 10,’ this is it.
I would argue failing to do so is unsportsmanlike.
