If that is true, it is a ludicrous instruction.
Radio contesting should reward the skills of accurate copy and reporting of
radio transmissions, not skill at memorizing a “callsign vs. CQ Zone” lookup
table.

Like David said, CQWW says you should log the correct zone based on the
location, not what was send.
