I think the point being made is that if the rules did not favor anyone 
geographic area, there *might* be more serious participation and that 
would be a good thing.
I can recall trying to operate the CQ 160 from V47 land and nobody in 
the USA was interested in working anyone other than the USA.  We had a 
decent enough antenna to Win the Contest M2 that year from down there.
Many of the East Coasters that move out west lose interest in DX 
contests pretty fast.  It is a completely different contest.
Are these complaints vailid or are the more constructive comments? There 
is no harm is talking about this.  Someone might stumble across a great 
new format.
