I don't think there is any question that NCJ could/should be available in digital form. I just hope that when they do, they will not go the lazy route of simply providing a page-by-page digitization of the printed magazine. By "virtue" of its columnar format, QST is a real pain to read in its digital form, to the point where I rarely do so. I realize that the publisher is anxious that advertisers feel like they're getting their money's worth, but that problem has been addressed in other digital publications.

My copy of NCJ arrived July 2 by normal means. But I was disappointed with it,
inasmuch as it seemed to just print a compilation of what had been on the
WRTC2014 website for many weeks. Nothing substantive or new except the antenna
design article. And BTW, I used the antenna at one of the WRTC test sites in
2013 and was VERY impressed. To me, it is THE winner in its size category.

By contrast, July digital CQ covering WRTC arrived the same day. N2GA 's column
had original interviews with some of the competitors that told me things about
each of them beyond the WRTC bios. OH2BH also had a fascinating article on the
Finnish competitors, his own aging team's WRTC strategy to remain competitive,
and a virtual WRTC to be tested this past weekend with youth from 15 countries
at a summer camp in Finland.

I have subscribed to the NCJ for decades and it often has original, interesting
articles. I don't find reprinted website information original or interesting.

Hello Ron:

My July/August NCJ WRTC2014 issue arrived 8 days before the contest started
- via first class mail. Quite a difference in delivery time for WPA QTHs.

It is a shame your mailman decided to read your issue before he delivered it
to you :-)

WRTC2014 was an awesome event!

Have to admit, the July/August issue of the National Contest Journal, a
"Special WRTC 2015 Commemorative Edition", is really something.

Biographies on the competitors and referees.

Antenna design

Schedule of Events.

A Great Circle map centered on the WRTC locations.

Real-time scoreboard information, so you can follow along at home.

Participation Awards check-list to be used while operating.

Great issue.

Of course, it would have been a lot more useful if it had arrived before the
event. Not 8 days after the event ended.

Too bad all that hard work on this special issue went for naught.
