It was CW. It was a device that you plugged into a C64 computer.MM3 had a simulator mode (it was similar to DrDX as I recollect). I tried it once. The MM3 and I didn't get along very well and it finally died several years ago. 73, Larry W6NWS-----Original Message----- From: Joe Sent: Tuesday, December 17, 2013 9:17 AM To: cq-contest@contesting.com Subject: Re: [CQ-Contest] Programmers,,,,, I'm assuming Dr. DX was CW? It sortof "mimics" HF propagation based on the latitude and longitude you enter when setting in up.It was fun to use to train for real contests, but not sure if it is similarto Dr. Dx. Someone should post a video of it. Vy 73 de LU5DX On Tue, Dec 17, 2013 at 12:56 AM, Richard F DiDonna NN3W < richnn3w@verizon.net> wrote:Ive tried both. Neither do what Doctor DX did. Both are more current than DrDX. Morserunner can be setup with N1MM if desired but N1MM logger is nota requirement. Both have been available for awhile and are free. They do need Windows however. 73, Larry W6NWS -----Original Message----- From: Richard F DiDonna NN3W Sent: Monday, December 16, 2013 11:42 AM To: cq-contest@contesting.com Subject: Re: [CQ-Contest] Programmers,,,,, I'm still waiting for someone to come up with an updated version of Doctor DX! It had amazing sophistication for a C-64 program. 73 Rich NN3W On 12/16/2013 9:15 AM, Joe wrote:Being from the stone age, I have no idea if something like this is evenpossible to do. But it would be sooo awesome if someone was able to do this. This is my line of thinking, We first have the Dayton Pile up contest. http://www.kcdxclub.com/pileupintro.html With it's competition to copy calls from a massive pileup. This led to the awesome interactive version of it,, the Morse Runner. http://www.dxatlas.com/morserunner/ It's just like being some rare DX and playing in a contest. Then the blending of Morse Runner And N1MM http://k7og.net/?page_id=235 So now you have the pile-up AND your usual logging program, A virtual contest station! Now Programmers can anyone take this to the next step? Think of the Dayton pile up contest as how this started. CW Now we have an equivalent but in SSB from HB9ELV SSB PILE UP Trainer https://soundcloud.com/hb9elv/ssb-pile-up-trainer Anyone smart enough to take a file like this, and make a equivalent SSB version of Morse Runner? Maybe in the next CQWW a giant gun station could record the whole contest, to use as the source of audio files? Just thinking,, I have no idea as to even if something like this could be made. but wouldn't it be neat?
